Audition procedure
bullet Please arrive a few minutes ahead of your appointment to complete our information sheet before your singer’s audition.
bullet Your singer will meet with Mrs. Britts so that she can get to know him/ her and assess where they are in their musical development. For our younger singers, this interview gives Mrs. Britts the opportunity to have some one on one time with your singer and to help them be more comfortable for the first day of rehearsal. We play some musical games, sing together, and they can sing a little by themselves if they like.
bullet For our older singers, the audition gives Mrs. Britts the opportunity to make the wisest choice for their placement in the NCCC program. No preparation is necessary, but they will be asked to sing a song such as My Country Tis of Thee, or Happy Birthday, or any other song that both the singer and Mrs. Britts know.
bullet Decision on placement is based on the singers’ prior musical experience, musical aptitude and pitch matching ability.
bullet Singers will be notified at the end of the audition where they have been placed in the NCCC program.
